Actually it's Audi but they're both part of the VAG so it doesn't really matter.

Yup. 'Owned by Audi through its Italian subsidiary Lamborghini' according to Wikipedia. Audi, of course, is owned by VW. What a weird was to say 'Owned by VW.' I thought it might've been because it didn't sound as good, but I was wrong.

Apparently it does. Lamborghini does in fact own Ducatti, so their overall fuel efficiency rating is effected positively (which I only just learned). Audi and VW don't reap the benefit of making high MPG motorcycles because Ducatti is solely owned by Lamborghini, even though Audi owns Lamborghini and VW owns Audi.
